The Seattle Seahawks could be scrutinized in the coming days for a possible violation of NFL policy Thursday night when quarterback Russell Wilson was sent off the field for a concussion check.

The episode occurred midway through the third quarter of the Seahawks' 22-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals, when Wilson absorbed a hit to the chin from linebacker Karlos Dansby. Wilson did not show any obvious signs of a concussion, but referee Walt Anderson invoked his right to send Wilson off the field for a testThe NFL concussion policy states that a player believed to have concussion symptoms cannot return to "practice or play" unless a team physician and an independent neurological consultant clear him. Teams can be fined if the league finds they did not follow protocol designed to ensure medical clearance before any player returns to the field.

After the game, Wilson said he wasn't concussed on the hit and felt "completely clear"I was just trying to move my jaw. I was like, 'Ah, man, it's stuck,'" Wilson said. "I think I was kinda like laying down on the ground for a second just trying to get my jaw, and I think Walt thought maybe I was injured or something like that. I told him I was good, I was good, and he said, 'Come off the field.'
"I think Walt did a great job first of all. He made the smartest decision. I was fine, though, 100 percent fine. And then they finally went over through the whole concussion stuff and all that. We went through every question you could imagine, and I answered even some more for them just so they knew I was good, and then went back in there."
The NFL investigates all credible reports of policy violations. Teams can be fined up to $150,000 for a first offense of violating the concussion protocol, according to a policy enacted jointly with the NFL Players Association in 2016. "We ask a lot of him, but when you've got more money than the state of Texas, you're going to be asked a lot," D'Antoni said with a laugh, referring to Harden signing the richest contract in NBA history over the summer. "That's just the way it is."
Harden's usage rate (35.2 percent) is the highest of his career, tied for the 25th highest in league history. He's averaging a career-high 29.9 points and boasts the best shooting percentages (45.7 from the floor, 40.6 on 3s) since becoming a go-to guy upon his arrival in Houston.
How did the MVP runner-up become even better at the age of 28? Harden shrugged -- "I don't know. Work." -- but Brown knows exactly how.
"He's in better shape," said Brown, a longtime friend of Harden's who trained with him in Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas and Houston over the summer. "He shredded a lot of weight. He's on a different eating plan as well. When we took care of his body this summer, you can tell on the court. He can move faster."
In theory, dropping 10 to 15 pounds should also help Harden finish the season stronger. Of course, so should adding a future Hall of Fame teammateHarden's load will be lightened when Paul joins him in the backcourt. There won't be a need to push his minutes into the 40s with one of the NBA's premier playmakers more than capable of running the Rockets' offense while Harden rests. Harden won't have to create every possession when he shares the court with Paul.
However, team insiders anticipate that Paul will have to adjust to playing off the ball much more often than Harden. The Rockets are still Harden's team.
